Brown plague gains on all the social levels and in all the professional categories by employing demagogy, lies and hatred. Economic decline is its bredding ground; in other words one can expect the new advances of the Front National.

Since FN indeed penetrated into the circles which are close to each one of us, it is necessary that everyone demonstrates resistance to it in those very circles. In the public transport, at the shops, in the offices. Showing refusal of FN in the everyday surroundings is the only way of avoiding the banalisation of the far-right, while bringing out from anonymity the ideas which condemn it.

It is no longer enough to demonstrate on the streets, to distribute pamphlets, to give lectures, to sign petitions. For all these actions often involve those who are already persuaded.

I decide therefore to mark my hostility to FN and to signal it permanently by wearing a definite insignia. It is not only a question of marking human brotherhood but of proclaiming political beliefs which refuse any compromise with ideals opposed to those of the Republic and the democracy.

By carrying that insignia :

- I refuse the measures which Front National wants to impose: "women in the kitchen", hatred of foreigners, censorship of ideas and art, control of bodies, national chauvinisme, self-defence, inequality in employment, in taxes and social security, liquidation of trade unionism and political parties...

- I engage in carrying in all places and at all times the sign of my unconditional refusal of FN.

I know that this attitude will expose me to explanations, insluts, or even acts of violence. But it is well for that reason, so that references to humanism and to solidarity are not lowered to the level of provocation, that it is urgent to assert the values of civilization against the resurgences of barbarism.

This sign is the red triangle, the one that the Nazis made the political prisoners wear in the camps of concentration and extermination. These prisoners were arrested because of their opinions and their resistance to fascism. Today, more than fifty years later, this resistance is again necessary. That's why we chose the red triangle as as symbol, to honour the memory of resistance fighters of yesterday and to assert the will of those in the present.
